A lion was from sleep by a mouse over his face. Rising up , he caught him and was about to kill him, when the mouse entreated, saying: "If you would only my life, I would be sure to repay your ." The lion laughed and let him go. It happened after this that the lion was caught by some , who bound him by strong to the ground. The mouse, recognising his roar, came and the rope with his teeth, and set him free, : "You ridiculed the idea of my ever being to help you, not expecting to from me any repayment of your ; now you know that it is for even a mouse to confer benefits on a lion."
